This is probably one of the most unusual Hoya species around. Hoya spartioides is endemic to Borneo and it’s has been collected in Sabah, Sarawak and Kalimantan. This species inhabits the Kerangas forest and they are usually found growing out of small holes found on the tree stumps. This Hoya does not have true leaves most of the times, so the “broom sticks” are actually the peduncles of the plant.
